If you’re a fan of women’s basketball, you have probably seen #RachBomb as a hashtag on Twitter. Those women’s basketball breaking news bombs are coming from Rachel Galligan, who played professional basketball in Spain, was an assistant coach at both Eastern Illinois and Ball State and is now an analyst for Just Women’s Sports.
#RachBomb an atomic one. Skylar in Phoenix is going to be fun. Can’t wait to hear the specs of the trade. https://t.co/6aJ7579rvq

Galligan has become known as the leading breaking news source for women’s basketball, drawing a comparison to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Jasmine Baker’s debut “Players of the New School” episode released on Thursday.
Baker, the host of Swish Appeal’s new podcast, which was previously a video series, traveled to Denver to meet up with Galligan and University of Denver women’s basketball head coach Doshia Woods for breakfast in order to talk hoops. The trio discussed the changing climate of women’s basketball breaking news, with Galligan now competing with the likes of Shams Charania of The Athletic, who typically covers the NBA. They also talked about Woods’ 2020-21 season, which was her first as Denver’s head coach, the challenges of COVID and more!
Enjoy this first episode and expect exciting things to come from “Players of the New School”!
