WNBA free agency negotiations typically begin on Jan. 15 each year, with signings following on Feb. 1. Because of the collective bargaining agreement deadline was extended to Jan. 15 — and the new CBA was announced on Jan. 14 — the league has modified the dates free agency talks can begin and contracts can be signed.
Per an announcement posted to Twitter, the WNBA provided the following key dates:
Tuesday, Jan. 28: Teams can begin negotiations with free agents.
Monday, Feb. 10: Teams and players can sign contracts.
This year’s free agents will be the first to sign under the upgraded pay provisions of the new collective bargaining agreement.
The WNBA announced that teams can begin negotiating with free agents on Jan. 28 and start signing player contracts on Feb. 10.
