Swish Appeal has been breaking down the 10 best WNBA players of the 2010s.
The countdown so far features:
No. 10 Sue Bird
No. 9 Angel McCoughtry
No. 8 Brittney Griner
No. 7 Tina Charles
No. 6 Nneka Ogwumike
So, who comes in at numbers five through one?
Now that we’ve entered what arguably can be considered the most competitive time in WNBA history, the choices are endless. But who should get the last five spots — players who racked up accolades consistently since 2010 or others who came into the league halfway through the decade but crushed everything?
Swin Cash, for example, won her third championship in 2010, with the Seattle Storm, before retiring in 2016 — the year Breanna Stewart entered the league as the No. 1 overall draft pick, also with the Storm. Two years later, Stewart crushed women’s basketball, winning a championship, the MVP honor and a Finals MVP award in a single season. So, do Cash’s three career titles trump Stewie’s one? Or does the fact that Stewart won MVP awards in the same calendar year top Cash’s achievements?
These are the tough decisions! But now is the time for you to weigh in on who should be declared among the five best WNBA players of the last decade.
