There are two games on Friday night, so let’s get to them.

Where: Wintrust Arena | TICKETS

The Chicago Sky are out of the playoffs, but they still can make things tougher for their opponents by thwarting the Sun’s hopes of climbing to a top four seed. Currently, Connecticut is in fifth place after going on a five-game win streak. Allie Quigley and Courtney Vandersloot lead the Sky with their perimeter shooting and playmaking, but will that be enough to slow down Connecticut’s very balanced lineup?

Phoenix Mercury (16-14) vs. Indiana Fever (5-24)

When: Friday August 10 at 9 p.m. EST

Where: Talking Stick Resort Arena | TICKETS

How to watch: NBA TV (national TV) | Fox Sports Arizona Plus (Phoenix area TV) | Fox Sports Indiana (Indianapolis area TV)

Injury report: Sancho Lyttle (knee) is out for the Mercury. Shenise Johnson (knee) is out for the Fever.

Storylines to follow

Earlier this season, the Mercury were leading the WNBA standings and showed little sign of slowing. However, they have lost eight of their last 10 games heading into tonight’s contest. Meanwhile, the Fever aren’t your typical 5-24 team. They’ve won three of their last five games, including a road match against the Sparks on July 20. This Indiana team isn’t ready for the “big time” per se, but things are still trending up for them nevertheless.
