Three WNBA preseason games are on the schedule for Monday May 7. The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever faced off in a matinee game, with Indiana defeating Chicago, 79-65. The Mohegan Sun Arena will be the site of a preseason doubleheader that tips off at 5 p.m. EST.

New York Liberty vs. Dallas Wings

Where and when: Mohegan Sun Arena at 5 p.m. EST

TV/Streaming: None

The Mohegan Sun Arena is the home of the Connecticut Sun, who will play later tonight. But on this Monday, it is also the preseason home of the Liberty, who have four UConn alumni on the roster: Tina Charles, Bria Hartley, Kiah Stokes and Kelly Faris. The Wings are led by Skylar Diggins-Smith, but they have two UConn alumni on their roster as well, with Saniya Chong and Azura Stevens on their roster. This match should be fun to watch given that the Liberty has been one of the Eastern Conference’s strongest teams in recent years while the Wings have acquired a lot of talent in recent years.

Connecticut Sun vs. Los Angeles Sparks

Where and when: Mohegan Sun at 7 p.m. EST

TV/Streaming: None

The Sun will get tested early in its preseason debut as it faces the second-ranked team in the league. Though Sun players like Jonquel Jones and Alex Bentley were among the players who missed the start of training camp last week, it should be interesting to see how Lexie Brown, Jasmine Thomas and Alyssa Thomas fare against Candace Parker and Cappie Pondexter. However, it is likely the Sparks will probably win this match even though Nneka Ogwumike and Maria Vadeeva haven’t reported to camp yet. But preseason matches are more about the players fighting for roster spots or playing time. So it should be a good match to follow nonetheless.
