What to watch

How will Las Vegas fare without its presumptive backcourt? The Aces have set their opening day roster, but it’s without several key players, including last year’s starters McBride and Plum.

Can Jonquel Jones pick up where she left off in the 2017 season? Jones was the breakout player of the 2017 WNBA season, during which she won the Most Improved Player Award. Unfortunately, she didn’t play in the preseason. There is no reason to doubt she will make an impact this season, but fans certainly want to see her in form against A’ja Wilson. Sun fans are also looking to see the impact of Chiney Ogwumike in her first regular-season game after missing all of 2017 due to injury.

How does A’ja Wilson fare in her first WNBA regular-season game? The first pick of the 2018 WNBA Draft makes her debut on the road. She only played one game against a WNBA opponent in the preseason, so hopefully she doesn’t show stage fright from the tipoff.
