Preview: Aces host Wings in preseason finale

Las Vegas and Dallas look to build momentum before heading into the regular season.

Ned Dishman - NBAE

The Dallas Wings will host the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday afternoon in the WNBA preseason finale. Here is a preview.

Game info

When: Sunday May 13 at 3 p.m. EST

Where: College Park Center, Dallas, TX — TICKETS

TV/streaming: None

Since May 5, the Wings have waived Natalie Butler and Loryn Goodwin and the Aces have waived Brooke Johnson and Jacki Gemelos.

What to look for

What can Las Vegas do against WNBA competition? The Aces won their preseason debut by thrashing China. However, China doesn’t have any WNBA players. In fact, China is probably in America to learn more about the American style of play in preparation for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup this fall.

Of particular interest will be how Aces center A’ja Wilson does against Dallas post players like Liz Cambage and Glory Johnson. They are a more accurate representation of the quality she will face each and every game throughout her first WNBA season.

Can Azura Stevens regain her form? The Dallas rookie had a spectacular debut against the Liberty with a 19-point performance, but she was scoreless the next day against the Connecticut Sun. It would be nice to see Stevens regain the swagger she showed against New York.
