Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith is coming off an All-WNBA First Team season in 2017 and looks to take things to the next level in 2018.
Her endorsement game is also getting a boost today, since she is featured in a new commercial for BODYARMOR, a sports drink. BODYARMOR is probably most famous for being the official drink for UFC and for being in former NBA star Kobe Bryant’s investment portfolio.
According to a CNBC video in 2017, BODYARMOR is the third largest sports drink in the market. This comes after Bryant invested somewhere between $4-6 million in 2014, according to Forbes’ Kurt Badenhausen.
Diggins-Smith is also an investor in the company. Her commercial features a situation where she is a Jazzercise instructor, but is noticeably irritated from the routine. That kind of thing is outdated when you look at her clothing. Bryant also co-directed and wrote the video.
Rockets guard James Harden, Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis, and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout also have BODYARMOR commercials as part of the campaign. Harden’s and Porzingis’ commercials will be on television Wednesday night during NBA playoff games on TNT.
