On Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET, HBO Sports and Uninterrupted will present the second episode of “The Shop,” an unscripted show featuring Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and sports agent Maverick Carter. Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne will be one of the featured guests on this episode.
“The Shop” features a barbershop concept as James and Carter talk about various subjects in sports and society with other guests.
You can watch a preview of Friday’s show below:
In the preview, Delle Donne mentioned that she is fighting for various women’s issues now “so your daughter won’t have to.” Delle Donne is one of several WNBA players who have been very vocal about the lack of WNBA coverage and the gender pay gap that exists between men’s and women’s basketball in particular. Last June, Delle Donne took issue with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver when he made comments about the WNBA’s challenge to attract more fans, in particular young girls.
Nothing more was given in that snippet, so it will be interesting to see what topics Delle Donne puts her insights on, whether they are on women’s pay, WNBA coverage or anything else.

The other guests on this program are Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo, Magic center Mo Bamba, Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons and Canadian rapper Drake.
There are many ways to watch HBO legally, even for cord-cutters who do not have cable or satellite television. HBO NOW is the network’s standalone streaming service on Apple, Google, Amazon and Roku. All offer a free trial as well.
With Delle Donne part of “The Shop,” it will be interesting to see if more WNBA players make appearances in future episodes.
