New York Liberty defeat Tulsa Shock in overtime 78-76

The New York Liberty won this game over the Tulsa Shock in overtime after a Cappie Pondexter bucket with .5 seconds left on the clock plus a waved off Glory Johnson lay up.

For New York, Pondexter had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists while Essence Carson had 19 points and 5 rebounds. Katie Smith played off the bench and grabbed a crucial jumpball between Kayla Pedersen and Pondexter late in regulation which helped give the Libs a chance to win.

For Tulsa, Skylar Diggins had an off night but made two three point shots. Glory Johnson had 17 point and 11 rebounds while Liz Cambage had 22 points and 3 blocked shots but she left the game in overtime after what appeared to be an ankle injury.

New York is now 1-1 and gears up for a Wednesday matinee vs. Indiana, while the Shock is 0-3, and there are still three more games on the road for them and they by no means are cupcake wins.
