Things are heating up in College Park, Md. as the No. 8 Maryland Terrapins led the Iowa Hawkeyes 68-51 after just one half of play on Tuesday. Amid the high-scoring affair comes the news that No. 2 ESPN Hoop Gurlz recruit Angel Reese has returned for Maryland.

Reese sustained a right foot fracture on Dec. 3 and was out until Tuesday. She averaged 13.3 points and seven rebounds over the course of Maryland’s first four games, with her three minutes of playing time in the fourth game against the Towson Tigers on Dec. 3 bringing her averages down.

Reese (6’3”) is expected to be a versatile wing/forward for the Terps.

The freshman from Baltimore has come off the bench to play 10 minutes and score six points through three quarters. The Terps scored an incredible 41 points as a team in the first quarter and their sharpshooter Katie Benzan was 8-of-9 on 3-point attempts at the break, tying a Maryland record for most triples in a game.

Caitlin Clark of Iowa had 29 points in the first half and was 8-of-11 from distance.
