I generally don't want to step on too many toes of our NCAA SBN blogs, as some of them do cover their women's basketball teams to a very good degree. But either way, here's a place for you to discuss tonight's games that will be on the four letter network, the same network that is guilty of using the "Three Words That Shalt Not Be Mentioned."
#3 Stanford at #1 Connecticut, 7:00 PM
This match will feature two of the nation's top contenders and will feature multiple players who may be top WNBA Draft prospects whether it's this year with Chiney Ogwumike of Stanford for the 2014 rookie class, or maybe Breanna Stewart for the 2016 rookie class, among others. In additional news, the #19 UConn men's basketball team played in-state foe Yale earlier today and won big, 80-62.
#4 Tennessee at #12 North Carolina, 9:00 PM ET
Here is another match featuring two major national powers. Both teams come off of victories with UNC winning big against Air Force last Friday, while Tennessee defeated Middle Tennessee by 10 points. This game hopefully should be a much more even matchup for both sides.
North Carolina assistant coach Ivory Latta, who also plays for the Washington Mystics as their floor leader, has this awesome video here which you can see below:
One of our SBN comrades, Rocky Top Talk has this great preview of this year's Lady Vols team which you can read here.
Other major games on tonight
#19 Michigan State will play #6 Notre Dame at 7:00 PM ET. The match is only on WatchND.tv when I checked the teams' sites.
NBA Basketball
There are many games on tonight, only one on national TV which is an NBA TV match as the Denver Nuggets travel to face the Utah Jazz at 9:00 PM ET. All NBA games are on TV through NBA League Pass except for your local team which would be on its designated channel. A new full subscription for League Pass, which allows you to watch games on designated TV channels, as well as desktop computer AND mobile device access will cost you $199, which is generally spread out over five months. If you watch a lot of professional basketball and I do, it is worth the money and this allows me to watch many Timberwolves and Warriors games among others when it's late at night.
Tonight's entire list of games can be accessed by clicking here.
That's all I have. Enjoy tonight's games.
