You asked. The Basketball Gods answered.
Next up in NBC Sports Network’s “Olympics Week” is the USA Basketball Women’s National Team playing for gold at the Olympic Games in Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000), Athens (2004) and Rio de Janeiro (2016).
As expected, Lisa Leslie dominated in the paint in 1996, with Dawn Staley — now head coach of the women’s national team — showing why she’s one of the best ballers and shot-callers to ever step on a court.
In 2000, Sheryl Swoopes helped Leslie carry the scoring load and Yolanda Griffith cleaned up the glass with a team-high 8.8 rebounds.
Four years later, the national team roster was packed with an influx of additional Hall of Fame talent, including Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings, Diana Taurasi and Tina Thompson.

At the 2016 Rio Games, the national team upped the ante by bringing in generational talents Elena Delle Donne, Brittney Griner, Maya Moore and Breanna Stewart, plus defensive enforcers Seimone Augustus, Tina Charles and Sylvia Fowles.
The action kicks off at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
