The first games of the EuroCup Women Semifinals are now complete. But the teams that will advance to the Finals have not been decided yet — anything can happen in next week’s second semifinals games. To see where teams will stand heading into those contests, here are the results of the first games:

BLMA holds off Girona’s comeback, wins 69-66

BLMA led for much of this game, by as many as 18 points. But Girona kept things interesting by going on a furious comeback in the fourth quarter.

Ana Dabovic led BLMA with 12 points in the win, while two of her teammates scored in double digits. The one-time Sparks guard had little problem making difficult shots easy when given the chance.

Sami Whitcomb had an off night, scoring just 7 points on 2-of-8 shooting.

For Girona, Keisha Hampton scored 32 points while Gabby Williams added 9.

Nadezhda beats Famila Schio, 67-61

Nadezhda is one step closer to the EuroCup Women Finals after a close win over Famila Schio.

Brionna Jones scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds in Nadezhda’s big win. Erica Wheeler added 16 points while making shots like this highlight shown below.

For Famila Schio, Allie Quigley was hot, scoring 18 of her 24 points in the first half in the losing effort.

After the first game of the EuroCup Women semifinals, both outcomes were close and the outcomes of these series can still go either way. The second and final game of each semifinal series will be played Thursday, Mar. 28.
