Maya Moore took home her third WNBA All-Star MVP trophy on Saturday, but she is the first player in league history to do that three times in a row.
“New format, same result. Maya’s team wins. Maya wins MVP,” wrote Brian Martin.
So, even in a fun, friendly exhibition-style matchup, Moore steals all the hardware, crushing the hopes and dreams of anyone who’d thought for even a split second they had a chance.
Moore helped Team Parker to a 119-112 victory over Team Delle Donne with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. But a third-straight All-Star win, and three-in-a-row MVP honors, were not enough to satisfy this Lynx champion. In the win, Moore also surpassed Tamika Catchings for most points scored in All-Star competition.
