Skylar Diggins-Smith shows a sneak peek of the WNBA’s Nike apparel during her video shoot

Ironically, she isn’t a Nike athlete.

One of the three questions I had last Friday on the WNBA Draft was whether we would see the WNBA’s uniforms. This season, the league will wear Nike apparel after wearing Adidas for the past decade.

I did show a tweet of Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith in practice apparel with the trademark Nike swoosh. But if you didn’t get a chance to see a full resolution video of her shoot for the WNBA’s “Watch Me Work Version 3.0” campaign, you can see it above or click here.

There’s some irony here with Diggins-Smith being the WNBA player who is showing us a sneak peek of “Watch Me Work” in Nike apparel. She isn’t a Nike athlete anymore.

According to SLAM Magazine, Diggins-Smith stopped wearing Nike shoes in the 2017 WNBA season after being a Nike athlete in the first four year years of her career. Diggins-Smith then signed a multi-year endorsement with Puma in August 2017.

It is unclear exactly when Diggins-Smith’s video will air. If I had to guess, one good time to do it could be as early as this Saturday when the NBA Playoffs start. But since the WNBA season starts on May 18, it may not go live until the end of April.
