Back in December of 2016, former Drake assistant Courtney Graham, filed a lawsuit against the university and head coach Jennie Baranczyk, for discrimination and forcing Graham to retire after learning she was gay.
The U.S. District Court has now dismissed the case.
In a report by Des Moines Register, Drake gave the following on the District court’s decision:
Drake University provided the following statement on the lawsuit’s dismissal:
“Drake University is pleased the discrimination lawsuit filed by a former women’s basketball assistant coach has been dismissed on summary judgment. We were confident this lawsuit would be resolved because the claims against the University and head women’s basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk were untrue.
The University is committed to a culture of respect and diversity. The court’s action affirms our practices.”
