Stillwater, OK — The No. 3 Baylor Lady Bears (24-1, 14-0) defeated the No. 21 Oklahoma State Cowgirls (18-7, 9-5) at Gallagher-Iba Arena Tuesday night 87-45, in what was originally expected to be a close matchup.
The Lady Bears’ last and lone loss of the season was Nov. 18 against the now no. 7 UCLA Bruins; the same team Oklahoma State recorded one of its most impressive wins against this season.
Despite being shorthanded with only eight players suiting up, Baylor’s efficiency led the way. Four Lady Bears scored in double figures, led by Dekeiya Cohen and Kelani Brown. Cohen had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown also recorded a double-double with 20 points and an impressive 23 rebounds.
Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey said her team played extremely well.
“We basically played a game where we could do no wrong,” Mulkey said. “We shot it well, we defended like crazy. It’s just one of those nights.”
Big 12 Player of the Week Kaylee Jensen was the only Cowgirl to score in double figures, with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Oklahoma State moves on to face No. 6 Texas in Gallagher-Iba Arena Saturday, and Baylor will host Kansas on Saturday.
