After days of being silent during the free agency, New York has announced the re-signings of Bria Hartley (restricted free agent) and Kia Vaughn (unrestricted free agent).
“We are excited to have a pair of native New Yorkers in Kia and Bria re-sign with the Liberty,” said New York Liberty head coach Katie Smith. “Kia Vaughn continues to be one of the most consistent centers in the WNBA and was a solid veteran presence in our locker room last season. Bria put her versatility on display every night, playing multiple positions, spending time at both the one and the two, and developing into one of our most consistent scoring threats.”
Both players joined the Liberty last season from the Washington Mystics. Vaughn averaged 5.8 ppg and 4.9 rpg while shooting 53.6% from the field for the Liberty last season. Hartley flourished in the final 17 games last year as she averaged 10.8 ppg. In 2017, she averaged 7.8 ppg, 2.1 rpg, and 2.1 apg.
New York also announced the re-signings of Rebecca Allen and Lindsay Allen. In 33 games for the New York, Rebecca Allen averaged 2.8 ppg and 2.0 rpg. In 28 games, Lindsay Allen had game averages of 1.9 points and 2.2 assists.
