ORLANDO, FL — On Wednesday night, Grambling State’s Shakyla Hill recorded the first quadruple-double in 25 years.
Hill finished the game with an impressive 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals in the 93-71 win.
The accomplishment is so rare, it has garnered the attention of one of the game’s greats, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.
“Well first of all, congratulations to her,” James said. “We were actually at a taco spot here (in Orlando) when we saw it, and me and (JR Smith) were like holy, like that is impressive. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at, what type of league you’re in, male or female, if you’re able to get a quadruple double in any facet— obviously not with turnovers-- but she did it with steals.
“Did you see her stat line at halftime? She had like four points, three rebounds, three steals, three assists. She went off in the second half. So big congratulations to her for sure.”
The night of making history, Hill received an out pour of shout outs from stars in both the WNBA and NBA, but there was one player she was really hoping to hear from — now she has.
aye James Harden just tweeted about me.. if Lebron do, i’m really gone lose my mind.
