All week there was anticipation waiting to hear an update on Notre Dame’s Lili Thompson who left the game early Sunday after injuring her knee.
Unfortunately, the news went from hoping she would be missing maybe a few games to the rest of the season as Thompson tore her ACL.
“I know this team is mentally tough and we will band together through this challenge and persevere,” Irish coach Muffet McGraw said in the university’s news release.
“It’s certainly an unprecedented situation in my career,” McGraw continued. “We wish Lili a speedy recovery.”
This is the third player this season for the Fighting Irish to have their season come to an end early due to an ACL tear. Brianna Turner also isn’t playing this year because of the same injury, however, hers was sustained last season.
