Lisa Leslie already has an ongoing list of accolades behind her name from her collegiate and professional career. We’ll get to those in a bit, but she’s about to add one more.
FOX Sports Florida announced Lisa Leslie will be joining the Orlando Magic as an on-air talent for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. The Hall of Famer will now be the studio analyst for select Magic Live! pre- and postgame shows. Leslie made her FOX Sports Florida debut earlier this week during the pregame show, but this was not her first television debut.
She’s previously served as a commentator for ESPN, FOX Sports Net, Turner and NBC.
Now, to get to those accolades. Leslie is coming into the role with a plethora of basketball honors. The three-time WNBA MVP, two-time WNBA Champion and four-time Olympic gold medal winner also has two WNBA Finals MVP awards, two Defensive Player of the Year awards, eight 1st team All-WNBA selections and three WNBA All-Star MVP awards.
As if that isn’t impressive enough, she also was the first WNBA player to win the regular season MVP, the All-Star Game MVP and the playoff MVP in the same season. Oh, and she was the first woman to slam-dunk in a professional game.
Leslie was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
