With a new look to the franchise, Washington has found itself in a difficult struggle: multiple injuries.

The Mystics star player Elena Delle Donne will miss at least the next two weeks for Washington. The team announced she has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in her left thumb which she sustained in the Mystics’ game on July 30.

“We have had numerous injuries this year and have gotten through them. We will do the same for the next couple of weeks and look forward to having Elena back for the playoffs,” said Washington’s Head Coach Mike Thibault.

Delle Donne is scheduled to have surgery this week and be re-evaluated in two weeks’ she is expected to return to the court before the end of the regular season.
