The Dallas Wings’ Evelyn Akhator will be packing up and moving out of the country temporarily after being named to the Nigerian national team where she will compete for her home country in AfroBasket.
Akhator, who was the No. 3 overall pick in May’s WNBA draft, will begin training with her new ball squad starting tomorrow and go through Saturday, July 29.
The team announced the 6’3” forward will then compete in the AfroBasket Tournament in Mali from August 16-28. Her exact schedule is not yet determined, but she could miss as many as four games with Dallas while playing abroad before returning to finish the season with the Wings.
