For four consecutive weeks, a player from Connecticut had been awarded being named Player of the Week for the East. This week though, the streak has been broken as Stefanie Dolson from Chicago has been named the Eastern Conference player of the week. For the West, Breanna Stewart of the Seattle Storm has won the honor.
This is the first time Dolson has won the award in her four years in the league. Last week she helped Chicago to a 2-1 record where she averaged 20.7 points per game. She finished third in field goal percentage last week shooting57.5%, seventh in rebounding at 8.0 per game and tied for fifth in blocks at 1.67 per game.
As for Stewart, this is the second time in her career, first this season, for winning Player of the Week Last week, Stewart averaged 23.0 points per game (second in the West), 8.5 rebounds per game, (third in the West), shot 56.8% from the field for the seventh-best percentage in the West and tied ninth for assists with 3.0 per game.
