Oral Roberts’ Ashley Beatty found dead

TULSA, OK— A member of the Oral Roberts University women’s basketball team was found dead in her dorm room on Thursday, according to a report from KOTV.

KOTV learned of the death via athletic officials at the university. The student was identified as sophomore Ashley Beatty.

Beatty played in 28 games this past season at ORU and averaged 4.7 ppg.

“We are absolutely heartbroken with the news. Ashley was a bright young woman who was loved by everyone on our team and in our community,” head coach Misti Cussen told KOTV.

“Obviously our prayers are with the entire Beatty family during this time.”
