The University of South Carolina announced today it has filled an opening on their women’s basketball coaching staff. The Gamecocks have hired Tennessee Lady Volunteers assistant Jolette Law, who will replace former Lady Vol Nikki McCray-Penson. Penson became Old Dominion’s new head coach last month.
Law joined the University of Tennessee’s coaching staff in 2012, after serving as head coach at Illinois. Law is from Florence, South Carolina and was a strong recruiter in her time with the Lady Vols.
Law was a big part of the reason Tennessee was able to sign the nation’s top recruiting class last fall. Her hire with the Gamecocks comes about a week after South Carolina announced Lady Vol transfer Te’a Cooper would be making the same change from Knoxville to Columbia.
