The Oklahoma women’s basketball team has lost their tallest player in history to transfer plans, according to NewsOK.
Nancy Mulkey, a 6’9” center from Cypress, Texas was granted permission to transfer on Monday morning. Mulkey marks the program’s second transfer in less than a week after fellow sophomore Chelsea Dungee.
During her freshman season, Mulkey played in all 33 games and started 18. She averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game, but was expected to have a major impact in the years to come.
Mulkey also totaled 62 blocks in her career as a Sooner, which is third-most by an OU freshman and seventh-most by an OU player. She also finished second in most blocks by a freshman in Division I.
Mulkey has not yet announced where she plans to transfer to. After her transfer, OU has just 10 scholarship players entering the 2017-2018 season.
