This postseason there have been numerous players transferring for a plethora of reasons. At this moment there hasn’t been an official word on the reasoning behind Beatrice Mompremier’s transfer from Baylor, however, she has found a new university to call home.

As reported by the Miami Herald, Mompremier will now be playing for Miami.

Mompremier is from Miami so it is a homecoming area individuals are happy to see happening, especially her high school coach.

“I’m extremely excited that Beatrice gets to come home and play for the hometown fans,” Miami High coach Sam Baumgarten said to the Miami Herald. “I’m also happy for (Hurricanes coach) Katie Meier and her staff. They are so dedicated to UM.”

Mompremier chose Miami over Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Florida State. At Baylor she averaged 8.3 points and 6.5 rebounds this past season and started in 10 games.

Due to NCAA Division I transfer rules, she will have to sit out a year, but once she is eligible, Mompremier will have two seasons to play for the Hurricanes.
