Seattle-- Sue Bird will not participate in the start of training camp for the Seattle Storm, after undergoing a knee scope.
Storm president and general manager Alisha Valavanis released a statement to members of the media that said the following:
“Sue underwent a left knee scope earlier this month. At this point, she is not participating in camp; her rehab and progression are on schedule. Her timetable for participation in camp is not set, but we are expecting her back at full strength soon.”
The 2017 season will be Bird’s 15th in the league. Last season, Bird averaged 12.8 points, 5.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game for Seattle.
