USC is now on Day 46 of their coaching search to replace Cynthia Cooper, who resigned at the conclusion of this past season. It’s almost become, sadly, comical at how elongated this quest has become.
As USC insider Scott Wolf, who covers the Trojans for the LA Daily News, pointed out three days ago:
“If anyone cared about USC women’s basketball, this coaching search would be getting panned nationwide.”
Many coaches have reached out to us privately laughing, and are in total befuddlement. But, on a serious note, the players are the ones, who don’t deserve this. One of their star players, Kristen Simon, took to Twitter, and offered an amusing take on the search:
We are going to coach ourselves at this point

The media know more than we do

Hopefully, soon, the players will have their answer, because this is not what they signed up for.
