Jimmy Dykes announced today he will no longer be the coach for Arkansas, per a report by the Arkansas Online. His decision is somewhat interesting considering his contract does not end until March 2020.
“It was a tremendous honor to be the head coach at my alma mater for the past three years. I know in my heart, that God moved me into this position and I trust 100 percent that he is now moving me forward to something different,” Dykes told the media.
In his three years with the Razorbacks, he has compiled a record of 43-49, and 16-36 in SEC play. This season was the worst conference record that Arkansas has had since being in the SEC with a record of 13-17.
“I am appreciative of the effort Jimmy has demonstrated over the past three years to our program. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” athletic director Jeff Long told the Arkansas Online.
