LeBron James on equality comments: ‘happy’

The King says he’s “happy” to be apart of Nike’s controversial equality campaign.

New Orleans, LA — There was a lot to see in New Orleans this weekend. Whether you were here for All-Star weekend or to partake in Mardi Gras celebrations, there’s something to see no matter where you are. Ask anyone, though, and they’ll tell you one site that they couldn’t miss was the Nike Equality campaign poster, featuring LeBron James, plastered on the side of one of the city’s tallest buildings.

At the All-Star practice over the weekend, which took place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, our team asked James about his feelings towards the campaign and his stance on issues revolving around women in sports and equality.

“I think that ad speaks for itself and I think equality is about all of us, not just athletes,” stated James. “It’s about every race, every religion everybody just figuring out a way how we can all feel equal. I think that’s a very, very powerful thing and I was happy to be a part of that.”
