Tampa, FL -- The South Florida Bulls improved to 7-1 in the American Athletic Conference tonight at the Sun Dome with a 72-52 win over Cincinnati.
Behind junior forward Maria Jespersen’s career-high 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists, the Bulls were able to easily stampede past the Bearcats. Cincinnati, however, has surpassed expectations so far this season, going in projected to finish 10th in the conference yet currently being tied for fourth with Tulane.
Speaking of ties, South Florida is neck and neck with Temple for second place behind the UConn Huskies – the only conference team South Florida has lost to so far this season.
The Bulls will continue conference play on Sunday as they head to Memphis for a 6:30 p.m E.T tipoff. Cincinnati will return to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. E.T against UConn.
