Back in July Texas Tech’s head coach Candi Whitaker hired Melanie Balcomb as her associate head coach. Unfortunately, the team announced Balcomb has resigned from her position only a few days before conference play begins.
In a school press release, Balcomb and Whitaker stated the following:
“At this time. I need to focus on dealing with a family medical issue that won’t allow me to commit my full energies to coaching. I’d like to thank Texas Tech for the opportunity to be a Lady Raider and wish them success as they enter league play, shared Balcomb”
“We appreciate all that Melanie has done for our program and we wish her the best going forward.” shared the Lady Raiders head coach Whitaker.
