INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Indiana Fever announced Tuesday that Head Coach Pokey Chatman will assume General Manager duties as Kelly Krauskopf steps back.
While remaining on as President of the Fever, Krauskopf moves her focus towards the Pacers Sports & Entertainment’s new esports franchise in the NBA 2K League - one of just 17 teams involved. She stepped into this role in July during preparations for the NBA 2K League launch.
“We are fortunate to be able to widen Kelly’s duties to include oversight and direction of our esports business,” said Pacers Sports & Entertainment President and COO Rick Fuson, “and to have an experienced general manager on hand in Pokey to work with Kelly in continuing to keep the Fever as one of the WNBA’s most successful franchises.”
Chatman heads into her second season as head coach for Indiana. Her new dual role as coach and GM will mainly comprise of assembling the roster. Chatman leads the Fever with much veteran experience, after assuming this same role in Chicago for six years. She spearheaded the Sky to four postseason appearances and in 2014, lead them to the WNBA Finals.
