Scott’s 35-point performance helps Northern Colorado upset DePaul

Northern Colorado, behind Savannah Scott's 35 points, handed DePaul a potentially damaging upset loss.

Chicago, IL -- It’s hard to win a game after allowing a team 33 points from the free throw line, as DePaul figured out as they fell to Northern Colorado 94-88.

Northern Colorado was led by senior Savannah Scott with 35 points. Alongside was teammate Courtney Smith with 24 points of her own, as the Bears took advantage of DePaul's 16 turnovers, scoring 25 points off those.

The Blue Demons sent the Bears to the line 37 times and they took advantage of 33 points. On the other side of the ball, DePaul was only sent to the line 29 times, where they only took advantage of 18 of those free points.

Despite the 17 and 16 point performance from Tanita Allen and Amarah Coleman, the Blue Demons weren't up to task Friday night.

DePaul will seek revenge as they host the Np. 22 seed Oklahoma, on Monday at the McGrath Phillips Arena. Tipoff is at 7 pm ET.
