Typically, it is during the summer months or the end of the semester, when players decide to transfer, but every now and then there are rare cases of a mid-year transfer.
Last month, Florida’s leading scorer, Eleanna Christinaki, quit the team following a team suspension, one she was not willing to accept. Fast forward a few weeks and now Christiaki has chosen her new home: No. 3 team Maryland, multiple sources tell Swish Appeal.
She took her official visit to College Park when the Terrapins hosted No. 1 UConn, in what turned out to be a classic.
Christinaki chose Maryland over two other top-10 ranked that she has visited in the past few weeks. Earlier this week, she visited No. 2 Baylor and a couple weeks ago she took an official visit to No. 8 Louisville.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Christinaki will have to sit out a year before she is eligible to play for Maryland.
