SAN ANTONIO, TX — It's trade season, which means lots of big movement is happening all over the WNBA. The San Antonio Stars are just one of those.
Tuesday morning, the Stars announced it had snatched center Isabelle Harrison from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for All-Star guard Danielle Robinson. If that wasn't enough, it also snagged a no. 5 pick in the WNBA Draft, in addition to it's already no. 1 pick in the first round, and no. 1 pick in the third round.
“We are grateful for all the contributions Danielle Robinson has made on the court and in the community here in San Antonio, and we wish her the best in Phoenix,” said Stars General Manager Ruth Riley. “The Stars welcome Isabelle Harrison to San Antonio and believe she will be a great, youthful addition to our post rotation."
The Stars struggled this season, and went just 8-29. So the acquisition of Harrison is huge -- Harrison was the 12th pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft after her tenure at Tennessee.
