Nation’s No. 5 recruit commits to Maryland

After beating Iowa today, Maryland received some more great news: a verbal commitment from Shakira Austin who is the number the No. 5 recruit in the country for the class of 2018.

Austin chose Maryland over UConn, UCLA and Notre Dame, to name a few. Austin shared her news via Twitter:

Austin is a 6’5” center whose height does not hold her back from moving around the court quickly. She plays for one of the most well-known AAU teams on the country in her home state of Virginia, Boo Williams.
