Athens, Georgia – The Georgia Bulldogs fought tenaciously against the South Carolina Gamecocks (#5), but the towering presence of the Gamecocks was simply too much for Georgia, as they lost 62-44.
South Carolina’s A’ja Wilson and Allisha Gray led their team with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Wilson and Alaina Coates — the nation’s most formidable low post duo — just dominated the glass with 24 combined rebounds.
The Gamecocks also had a decided advantage at the free throw line. South Carolina shot almost four times as many free throws (31) as Georgia.
South Carolina will host Tennessee at 6:00 p.m. EST next Monday. The Lady Bulldogs will face Ole Miss in Oxford on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. EST.
