Renee Brown, the Chief of Basketball Operations and Player Relations, announced today, Angel McCoughtry of the Atlanta Dream, has been suspended a game without pay for receiving her seventh technical foul in one season. Atlanta will face the San Antonio Stars tomorrow without McCoughtry.
McCoughtry received her sixth and seventh technical in the Dream’s last game against Phoenix on Sunday. Per WNBA rules, once a player or coach gets their seventh technical, they are automatically suspended for a game.
For every two additional technical fouls received for the remainder of the regular season by McCoughtry, she will be suspended for an additional game, per league rules.
