Indiana hires WNBA player as grad assistant

Mistie Bass of the Phoenix Mercury will become a grad assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at Indiana University.

The Indiana Hoosiers women’s basketball team announced today they will be hiring Mistie Bass as a graduate assistant for the 2016-2017 season, along with Eddie Praley.

Head coach, Teri Moren shared her pleasure to have Bass joining her staff:

"We are excited to have Mistie Bass (and Eddie Praley) join our program, who have both been involved with successful teams. Mistie has competed at the highest level, playing in two Final Fours at Duke and winning a WNBA Championship with the Phoenix Mercury. We are very fortunate to have both of them as Hoosiers."

Bass will join the Hoosiers at the conclusion of the Phoenix Mercury WNBA season.

She has played in the WNBA for nine seasons and was apart of the Mercury that won the championship in 2014. Thus far in her career, Bass has started in 54 games of teh 276 she has played in. She has averaged 4.7 points 3.2 rebounds and a 51.7 field goal percentage.
