The Phoenix Mercury announced they have signed veteran guard Lindsey Harding. She recently was released by the New York Liberty.

When Harding was first drafted to the league nine years ago -- as the No. 1 pick -- she was drafted by the Mercury, but unfortunately was traded before playing for them. Now she will get the opportunity to play for the franchise again.

In the five games for the Liberty this year, making three starts, Harding averaged 3.6 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. In her career she averages of 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.1 blocks and 29.8 minutes per game.

About a week ago Harding helped Belarus qualify for the Olympics coming up in a couple of months.

Harding will get to play her former team, the New York Liberty, on Sunday, June 26th.
