The Minnesota Lynx announced today they have re-signed Janel McCarville. Last season she informed the team she would sit out the entire 2015 season.
McCarville, who came by way of a three-team trade with Tulsa, has been with the Lynx since 2013 after a two-year hiatus. Her first season in Minnesota she started in 32 games, with averages of 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. In 2014, she started in 34 games with averages of 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds.
She last played for Abdullah Gul in the Turkish League where she averaged 7.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
McCarville first entered the league in 2005 as the first overall pick in the draft to the Charlotte Sting. She has also played for the New York Liberty where in 2007 she was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player.
