The next head coach at the University of Central Florida will be Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, as first reported by UCFSports. Abrahamson-Henderson comes to UCF after head coaching at Albany since 2010.
While at Albany,
Abrahamson-Henderson has won the America East Conference regular season and conference tournament championship for the last four consecutive seasons.
Five of the six years at Albany, the Great Danes went to the NCAA Tournament. This year was the first time they advanced to the second round under her leadership getting a huge upset over Florida in the first round. In the second round the Great Danes lost to Syracuse.
In her tenure at Albany, Abrahamson-Henderson has an overall record of 172-51, including a 99-14 record in conference play.
Abrahamson-Henderson has also been a head coach at Missouri state from 2002-07 where she had an overall record of 95-61 and a conference record of 52-38. She was an assistant at Indiana (2008-10), Washington (2007-08), Michigan State (2000-02), Iowa State (1994-2000), Maine (1992-94) and Duquesne (1990-1992).
