Theresa Wenzel is a veteran of the sports industry for 21 years. Before joining the Atlanta Dream, she was working at Georgia Tech were she was the athletic administrator. She was apart of the Yellow Jackets' staff since 2005, then in 2006 she was promoted to Senior Women's Administrator.
For her hard work, Wenzel was awarded by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, for the 2011 Administrator of the Year.
Also during her career at Georgia Tech, she managed 10 sports teams, including women's basketball. Wenzel's duties included being the non-academic liaison in the Office of Student Affairs for the athletic department.
She was a member of Georgia Tech Women’s Resource Center Advisory Board, the Title IX Compliance Committee, the GTAA Compliance and Equity Committee, the ACC Women’s Basketball Committee, ACC Softball Committee and the ACC Women’s Tennis Committee.
Even before joining the Yellow Jackets' staff, Wenzel had experience as an Assistant Athletic Director, Associated AD for Business Operations all at Siena College.
She was an assistant basketball coach at Canisius College for three years. This college happens to be where she received her bachelors degree in Business Administration, then furthered her education by earning her master's in Sport Administration.
