For the first time in 31 years, the Tennessee Lady Vols are not ranked in the AP Top-25 Poll. The streak of being ranked has been going on since February 17, 1985. For those who have been following, the Lady Vols have had a rough year as they have struggled to finish games.
In the preseason of this year, Tennessee was ranked #4 in the nation. However, as the year has gone on they have steadily dropped further in the polls to eventually falling out today.
The year has not been what Tennessee nation is use to, couple that with the swirling distraction of rumors of Holly Warlick being in the hot seat. And yesterday's stunning upset by LSU only made things worse, and it was the final blow that led to the Lady Vols being out of the AP Poll.
Tennessee held a NCAA record with 565 consecutive weeks of being ranked. All hope isn't lost for the Lady Vols, yet if they want to get back to their winning ways and back in the AP Polls, starting and closing games must happen starting in their next game.
