Forever 24: Catchings’ jersey set for retirement

Tamika Catchings will have her uniform retired in Indiana.

After 15 years in the league and the face of the Indiana Fever her entire career, Tamika Catchings will have her jersey retired on June 24, 2017 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

This week the WNBA announced the entire schedule for the 2017 season and Indiana disclosed this honor would be happening for Catchings. She was a standout player for the Fever bringing home a championship to the team in 2012 where she was named the Finals MVP as well, won the league MVP in 2011 and claimed Defensive Player of the Year five times.

But Catchings is a player who portrayed excellence on and off the court. Rather it was her competitive spirit on the court, or her caring heart to give back to communities with her Catch the Stars Foundation, Catchings has always been a name many remember and for years to come her jersey will be seen hanging in the rafters.
