A devastating blow has struck the already short-handed North Carolina Tar Heels, as their senior star and arguably best player, Xylina McDaniel is out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, per multiple reports. McDaniel suffered a torn ACL and meniscus.
Here's part of the statement from North Carolina:
North Carolina senior forward Xylina McDaniel will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 basketball season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in her right knee Thursday night in Atlanta.
She suffered the injury in a loss to Georgia Tech. The senior was averaging 8.7 points per game and 6.8 rebounds this season.
